Mt. Qingcheng and Dujiangyan Irrigation ProjectOne-day tourAlthough not as well-known as some other sites in Sichuan, the Dujiangyan Irrigation Project, a world heritage site, is a worthwhile trip for anyone interested in the history of the province. Built around 250 BC, the irrigation project allowed the Sichuan basin to support a population of millions, and is still in use today, over 2000 years after it was built. Mount Qingcheng, conveniently located about an hour from Chengdu, is another world heritage site, and one of the five Daoist holy mountains. ItinerarySetting off at 8:00 am, we'll first go to Dujiangyan city, visiting the deer farm and the 2000-year-old Dujiangyan Irrigation Project. Around lunchtime, we'll arrive at Mt Qingcheng. There, we'll walk to Yuecheng Lake, see Tianshi cave, and take the cable car to Shangqing Palace, near the summit of the mountain. Price includes:
